House is clean, dishes done, floors clean, laundry done and trash removed. Mikey has had his bath and we're all packed. Early departure so we'll be up at 4am- shower, coffee and a quick thought to be sure I have everything. Now, I'm going to have to send some hot chocolate mix when I get back unless I find any at the airport. I'm bringing one can but it belongs to Marissa. By the time we get back the shelves should be restocked. Linda McIntire had asked me for my breakfast casserole so here it is:
Sausage Egg Casserole
1 lb Jimmy Deans Pork sausage with Sage
1/2 bag shredded hash browns
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 cup chopped green pepper
6 eggs
1 cup milk
4oz cheddar cheese
Cook and crumble sausage; drain. Place hash browns in greased 13x9x2 pan. Sprinkle with salt, then layer sausage, cheese, and green peppers. Beat eggs and milk together, pour over layers.
Bake: 350 for 50-60 min.
Enjoy....it's always been a hit with the kids and adults serve with fresh fruit and hot buns.
This is for all of our Family and Friends who we don't get to speak to on a regular bases. Hopefully this will be better than an "up-date newsletter". With what I hope to be daily postings, we will be able to share our lives during the demands and travels of our Foreign Service lifestyle.

Two Days
So excited..two more days and Rich and I will be on our way to welcome our newest family member. Charlotte was named after "two Grandmothers". My middle name: Charlotte; and Marissa's Grandmother; Jean.
I still have to purchase a few last minute things to take back, finish the laundry, get the house prepared and pack but I'll be ready by the time we have to leave! We're also taking Mikey on this trip so I'll have a few extra thing's to get ready...He'll have his bath tomorrow.
We'll be spending the first week with Chris and Marissa and the second week with Craig and Trista. Corey will come for one week- splitting his time between the two. I already know it's going to be hard to come back..."looking forward to August"! Meanwhile I think I'll just keep packing and look forward to "this" time.

Forgot Something..
Our wonderful Friends from Munich came down to spend the weekend with us. We had a great time showing them around Bern. When they got home- the next morning Linda had gone to the garage to recycle some paper...she noticed "after a few minutes" that her car was gone! She went over to her neighbors to find out if they had seen anything, the German Police was called and she had to make a report that her car was stolen. She then had to call her husband Dennis "who had left town for business"; he made the calls to the insurance company- helping as much as he could on his end. Meanwhile Linda is thinking: this has to be a joke...perhaps her husband is trying to surprising her with a new car or something! So.... moving on to two days later..
I received a call from Linda this morning and the first thing I asked her was- "have they found your car"? Well,"kind of"...I thought- oh no, it's either been totaled or stripped. She went on to inform me that Dennis had called her earlier and "remembered" where the car was. ??? Before they had left for Bern on Friday- she had driven to meet up with him at his office; and she had parked her car in the underground garage with the intentions of stopping by there on the way home to pick it up. They had both forgotten all about it!
Now, I've misplaced my car before...ending up walking around the mall parking lot..but I have never lost it for two days forgetting where I put it! HAHAHA So you win this one Linda- hands down! By the way, when you come down to visit again,.. "I'll drive".

Valentines Day
Happy Valentines Day everyone! I was out early this morning and yet again, Feb.14th in Switzerland- it's very sunny and warm...I wonder if winter is finished over here.? Well, it was good while it lasted anyway- much better than no snow at all. 4 more days and we'll be on a flight to Ca. I'm so excited to see everyone! Still doing some last minute shopping for the kids, I'm not going to have much room for clothes :))) but it's alright, I plan to do some shopping anyway.
Now according to Chris and Marissa- Charlotte kept them awake all of Saturday night. But I have my doubts...does this look like a baby who would do that??

31 Years
I met him one summer night at a dance in Maine. My Brother, cousin Buddy, Larry Dakin and Wayne Manning had put together a little "rock band" ..they were playing that night and my BFF Darlene Pelkey and I were taking money and stamping hands in the ticket window. We were 14 and quite sure we knew everything in life! As always; after the rush came a lull and there was a cute boy sitting under the window "I only saw the top of his head" but had to tell Darlene! Her reply? "I dare you to ask him to dance". Now being "dared" was something that you just HAD to do- so I reached down, tapped him on the head and when he looked up I asked him if he wanted to dance {his eyes were amazing} He said sure and I walked around to meet him. Being 5'4, when I walked around the corner and saw him standing there- my first thought was: holy crap...could he BE any taller!?! That one dance was the beginning. We dated on and off all through High School, he lived in Searsmont and I lived in Freedom so we attended different schools but even when we dated other people- if I had a problem I would always call him first..he became my best friend.
It seemed that no-matter what happened in our lives, we always found our way back to each other....even then- I knew someday... So here we are 30-plus years later; three wonderful boys, two daughter-in-laws and three grandchildren {so far}...we have a wonderful life traveling around the world together and creating tons of memories. Sometimes when I'm asked: "If you could do it all over again, what would you change?" Well, other than getting my husband to pick up his dirty clothes..... I'd still do it all over again.

Strange
We're having some "unusual" weather here in Switzerland. It's beginning to warm up and some of the trees are already starting to bud; looks and feels like an early Spring out there!
This weekend I'll be shopping for thing's to take back for the kids. I'm so excited to meet our new Granddaughter and catch up with Shealynn & Brady...{and it goes without saying I'm looking forward to seeing our boys and daughter in laws}just nine more days!
Today I re-arranged everything back the way I had it; I'm happy the bedroom is "back to normal" I love having the room opened up- it's much more sunny and comfortable. I love trying new things'' but sometimes the first thought is the best.

Charlotte goes home
Shealynn
Today is Shealynn's 8th Birthday!! I know they celebrated on Saturday with a trip to the Science Museum and then with a "sleepover" for her friend's. {Bet there wasn't much sleeping} The gift's I ordered for her didn't make it in time for her Birthday, REAL upset about that..when I pay for express mailing, I expect them to Express Mail the gifts!! I called this morning to speak with her but everyone's still sleeping. Have to try again later.
As a Fisher Grandchild, Shealynn "who is now on Passport #2 has been traveling since she was born" Her first trip was to Seoul Korea when she was just a baby. Craig and Trista have been wonderful sending pictures, bringing her to visit, letting us visit them and phone calls. I can't wait until Rich and I get to "have them" for a few week's over their Summer Vacation's! {Grandparent's Summer Camp} The Counties will change but the memories will hopefully be wonderful for them {and us}.
We're truly Blessed. Happy Birthday Shealynn!!! Muah..XO

Almost time
With the "last ultrasound" done for this pregnancy Chris and Marissa said they saw two fat chubby cheeks and what looks like some seriously poutty lips. They can't wait to see her! With dilation of 2; she could arrive anytime now!! {hope it's before 8:30 on the 4th} For us the wait feels longer over here..right now it's 1:00am Friday morning for Chris and Marissa and it's 10:00am for us..so by the time they go to the Hospital to be induced; it will be 5:30pm over here!! Oh the pins and needles we sit on!!!! Everyone is so excited!
I will post when she arrives no-matter what time it is!! Can't wait to see her and find out what her name will be!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Another last day
Our New Granddaughter is running out of time to arrive on her own terms...on Friday morning the plan is to induce, we'll have to wait and see.
Corey has had his First experience with "car insurance" and the importance of it! A few weeks ago when the roads were icy another driver lost control of his car, he went off the road taking Corey with him, both drivers were fine but Corey's car got a "ding". They exchanged information and Corey made the calls...yesterday he was very upset to hear that it will cost 1800$ to fix the "tiny dent". He has great insurance that is covering everything- however, Now he's ready to give up having a car and get a horse! "how many of you are thing about the Axe Commercials; I'm on a horse" LOL, Oh.. Corey.....your always making me laugh; "love you so much".
What's good- is the the other two would get involved as well..They would probably get you a "stick horse" to ride or something!
